About CalculatorManager
Calculators that show their working — so you can check every number.
Our mission
Free calculators that show the formula, the worked example and the source behind every result — and run entirely in your browser, so your figures never have to travel.
CalculatorManager publishes calculators for money, health, maths and everyday decisions. 102 are live today out of a planned catalogue of 1008, and each one goes live only when it is complete: a working tool, the exact formula written out, worked examples with real numbers, an original explanation, cited sources and a verification date. There are no uploads, no accounts and no tracking.
Why we built it
Most calculator sites give you a number and nothing else. You cannot see which formula was used, which year's tax figures were applied, or whether anyone has checked the result — and for a salary, a mortgage or a health measure, an unexplained number is not much better than a guess. We wanted the opposite: a calculator that behaves like a good textbook example, where the method is on the page, the assumptions are stated, and the figures that change every year say where they came from and when they were last verified.
Private by architecture, not by policy
There is no server-side calculation anywhere on this site. Every calculator is JavaScript running on your own device, so the salary, weight, loan balance or anything else you type is never transmitted, stored or logged. You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, use any calculator, and watch the network tab — no request is made. There are no upload endpoints, no user accounts and no analytics scripts. A promise like that is easy to make; we made it impossible to break.
How we build calculators
Every calculator has to clear the same bar before it is published, and nothing goes live with a box unticked:
- Correct maths, tested. Each engine has assertions checked against hand-worked calculations, and the worked examples on the page are reproduced by the tool exactly.
- The formula, written out. The exact method and every variable, plus a step-by-step walk-through of doing it by hand.
- Sources and dates. Every rate, threshold and definition cites the authority it came from — the IRS, a state revenue department, the CDC, the SEC — with the date the figures were verified. Figures that change annually live in one dated dataset that every affected calculator reads, so a January update is one reviewed change, not four hundred edits.
- Honest limits. A result that is an estimate says so beside the result, not in a footnote. When a calculator cannot see something — your Form W-4, your local taxes, your body composition — the page says so plainly rather than pretending.
- No paywalls, no sign-up, no fabricated trust. No user counts, ratings or testimonials appear anywhere on this site unless we can substantiate them.
This is deliberately slower than generating pages from a template. It is also the only approach that produces something worth linking to. Everything planned and not yet built is listed openly on the roadmap.
What CalculatorManager is not
It is not financial, tax, medical or legal advice, and it is not a cloud service — we do not want your data. The results are well-documented estimates. A paycheck calculator cannot know what is on your Form W-4; a BMI figure cannot tell muscle from fat; an investment projection assumes a constant return that no real market delivers. Each page states its own limitations next to its result. For decisions that matter, use these tools to understand the shape of a problem and to check someone else's arithmetic, then confirm with a qualified professional. See the disclaimer.
Who is behind it
CalculatorManager is an independent project, designed and developed by a team of core software professionals along with several finance and tax professionals and consultants, led by a senior software engineer and architect with over 25 years in the IT industry — including 16 years building enterprise software and delivering client projects at one of the world's largest technology companies. It is the sister site of ToolsSonic, which applies the same browser-only principle to developer tools. Every tax, loan and health figure on this site cites its primary source and the date it was verified, and each calculator carries the byline of the person responsible for it.
Corrections
If a formula, figure or citation on this site is wrong, that is the message we most want. Email admin@calculatormanager.com with the page and the problem; corrections are made at the source dataset or engine so every affected page is fixed at once, and the verification date on the page is updated. See Contact.
